In today's meeting, discussions were held regarding the appointment of a firm to perform the audit of the Auditor General's Office for the year 2023 and decided to hand over the administrative work to the secretariat. In addition, the committee decided to inform Auditor General’s Office to include the following audits in AGO’s Annual Work plan 2024. Also, to allocate 4 slots in the Annual Work plan 2024 to accommodate any requests by committee during the year. • Football Association of Maldives Special Audit; • Housing Development Corporation Special Audit; • Male’ City Council Special Audit; • Velana International Airport Expansion Project Special Audit. Furthermore, a letter from Aa. Bodufolhadhoo Council regarding special duty allowance was discussed among the members. The committee decided to review the issue further in the committee’s next meeting. Also, the following letters were shared with committee members. • Auditor General's Office's First Quarter Report of the year 2023; • Budget Position Report for the year 2024 received from Ministry of Finance; • Paperwork related to the loans from Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) to provide working capital for Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC); • Loan disbursement details of the loans from Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) to provide working capital for Fenaka Corporation Limited. • Copy of some letters received to the committee regarding the Budget 2024. The committee then discussed an issue received from an individual regarding his retirement pension, and the committee decided to inform him that Maldives Pension Administration Office is in the process of disbursing the retirement pension under the Maldives Pension Act and contact Maldives Pension Administration Office for further details.
