In this meeting, two nominations for committee chair were put forward by the committee members. Senior Officer Asma Saleem presided over the selection process of the committee chairperson. Central Henveyru constituency member Ali Azim’s name was proposed by Hulhudhoo constituency member Ilyas Labeeb and supported by Kurendhoo Constituency member Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakee. The second nomination was proposed by Holhudhoo constituency member Yoonus Ali and seconded by North Fuvahmulaku constituency member Mohamed Rasheed. The nominee was Funadhoo constituency member Mohamed Shahid to be the chair of the committee. After discussion, the members decided to take votes for the nominee at the next meeting of the committee.
