State Owned Enterprises Committee's 15th meeting for the year 2024.

Summary

In today's meeting, the committee discussed the pending work and took the following decisions regarding the issues. 1. The Committee has clarified the case filed by those who lost their jobs following the dissolution of The Maldives Road Development Corporation and the National Pay Commission has informed that the pay framework, which will equalize salaries and allowances for all government posts, is in its final stages so decided to take the issue from committee status. 2. As the sub-committee’ s work which was formed to examine saudullah hilmi's letter regarding the pending works of Gdh. Thinadhoo’s new power plant building, was in its final stages, the committee took up the matter from the sub-committee and decided to ask the complainant to take up the matter with the Anti-Corruption Commission. 3. As there was no time to examine the complaint that the Vice President of Privatization and Corporatization Board was involved in politics, it was decided to withdraw the complaint from the status of the committee. 4. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Privatization and Corporatization Board to Maldives Post Limited regarding the amendments the company’s board made to the recruitment procedures of the company from committee status after sharing it with the members. 5. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Maldives Post Limited to Privatization and Corporatization Board regarding the amendments the company’s board made to the recruitment procedures of the company from committee status after sharing it with the members. 6. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Privatization and Corporatization Board regarding Regional Airports Company’s limited Enterprise resource planning solution and HR software’ tendering issue from committee status after sharing it with the members. 7. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Privatization and Corporatization Board regarding the issue of suspension of the board of STELCO from committee status after sharing it with the members. 8. The committee decided to remove the letter sent Housing Development Corporation regarding the agreement between the company and Mr. Ali Shafiq from committee status after sharing it with the members. 9. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Ooredoo Maldives following the committee's report on the issue of withdrawal of money from the accounts of bank customers without the knowledge of the owners of the accounts, from committee status after sharing it with the members. 10. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Maldives Monetary Authority following the committee's report on the issue of withdrawal of money from the accounts of bank customers without the knowledge of the owners of the accounts, from committee status after sharing it with the members. 11. The committee decided to remove the letter sent by Privatization and Corporatisation Board to comment on the strategic action plan for 2024 by July13, 2023 since the comment period had expired. 12. Since the issue of Privatisation and Corporatisation board not having enough members to meet its quorum and legal hurdles in running the board has now been resolved, it was decided to withdraw the matter from the status of the committee. 13. It was decided to take the issue sent by Privatisation and Corporatisation Board regarding the challenges they are facing in fulfilling their legal responsibility, as the Ministry was in the process of resolving the issues raised them. 14. The committee decided to remove the issue rasied by Privatization and Corporatization Board stating that Bank of Maldives was not cooperating with them from committee agenda as the issue have been resolved. 15. The committee decided to remove the letter sent to investigate the electricity issues in Fuvahmulah from committee agenda as the issue have been resolved. 16. The committee decided to remove the issue raised to investigate the complaints received regarding SOE’s after the change of government from committee agenda as the committee met with Privatization and Corporatization Board to clarify the complaints received. 17. The committee decided to remove the issue raised to analyse the works and processes of Aasandha Company from committee agenda as the committee met with the company to clarify the issue. 18. The committee decided to send the reply of Fenaka Corporation limited regarding the issue sent by MP Ahmed Saleem. 19. The committee decided to remove the issue sent by MP Abdhulla Waheed from committee agenda as the the reply of Fenaka Corporation limited regarding the issue was shared with the member. 20. The committee decided to send the reply of Regional Airports Company limited regarding the issue sent by MP Ahmed Saleem. 21. The committee decided to remove the issue raised to investigate MIFCO using its resources for political purposes from committee agenda as the committee met with the officials of the company and the Privatization and Corporatization Board to clarify the issue. 22. The committee decided to ask Rahaa Resorts to resolve the issue sent by them regarding their agreement in consultation with the Island Aviation Services.
