ޚުލާސާ

- Committee decided to write to the institutions within the committee mandate, to inquire into how those institutions would function during the covid-19 situation, and what their challenges are and the actions taken to overcome those challenges. - Next, the committee decided to write to the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services whether they have prepared a Social Impact Assessment for the covid-19 situation, and to share a copy of the assessment. - Committee decided to write to Human Rights Commission of the Maldives to inquire into the works carried out by the commission to ensure the protection of human rights, especially the rights of Children, women, Elderly people, Persons with Disabilities and migrant workers during the covid-19 pandemic. - Committee also decided to send letters to the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services, Family Protection Authority and Maldives Police Service, to inquire into the special actions taken by those institutions to provide protection to the people and children at-risk families who are forced to isolate themselves due to the lock down and also, their actions taken to protect children from all forms of abuse and women from domestic violence.
