In this meeting, the committee determined the deadline to finish the work on appointing a member from the public to the Judicial Service Commission. The deadline determined by the Committee was 17 November 2019. The Committee also determined members who would be in the panel to evaluate the candidates. Secondly, the Committee discussed the issue of the High Court Deputy Director Mohamed Nizam. Since the Committee had received the investigation report on the issue by the Department of Judicial Administration, which stated that the Department had decided to take action against the employee in compliance with the Regulation of the Employees of the Judiciary, the Committee determined that there was no action that the Committee should take on this issue. Therefore, the Committee decided to send a letter to Speaker of the parliament regarding the Committee's decision on the issue. Furthermore, the Committee gathered updates from the sub-committees established within the Committee to work on Bill on the amendment to Judicature Act and the Bill on the Amendment to the Judges Act. The Sub-Committees reported that they were working on the said bills. Moreover, the Committee decided to harmonize the Bill on the Amendment to Prosecutor General's Act with the other bills on amending the Acts of independent institutions.
