In today's meeting, the Committee discussed and unanimously voted to send to the Majlis floor, its report on the Resolution regarding concerns of the maritime industry. The Education Bill was passed with amendments by the Committee and the Members unanimously voted to send the Bill to the Majlis floor. The Committee also decided to conduct a meeting with Ministry of Higher Education, in relation to the Issue presented to it regarding the reviewing of rules for the Government's higher education scholarship schemes. An Issue regarding challenges faced by Maldivian nationals in the construction industry was submitted to today's meeting by MP for Thulusdhoo Constituency Ibrahim Naseem and endorsed by MP for Gemanafushi Constituency Ahmed Saeed. The Committee voted to conduct a meeting with the following stakeholders of the construction industry to clarify the challenges faced by them: 1. Architects Association of Maldives; 2. Association of Civil Engineers - Maldives; 3. Contractors Association of Maldives; and 4. Maldives National Association of Construction Industry.
