In today's meeting, the Committee discussed the two bills to amend the Land Transport Act (law number: 5/2009). Motion to reject Bill number 23/2020 (Bill to Amend Land Transport Act (law number: 5/2009) was unanimously passed by the Members in attendance. This motion was proposed by MP for Thulusdhoo Constituency Ibrahim Naseem and endorsed by MP for Kelaa Constituency Ibrahim Shareef. Motion to pass Bill number 22/2020 (Bill to Amend Land Transport Act (law number: 5/2009) with amendments from the Committee was passed with 6 votes. This motion was proposed by MP for Thulusdhoo Constituency Ibrahim Naseem and endorsed by MP for Kurendhoo Constituency Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem. The Committee also passed another motion proposed by MP for Thulusdhoo Constituency Ibrahim Naseem and endorsed by MP for Kurendhoo Constituency Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem, to forward this Bill to the following sub-committee of 5 members for further review: 1. MP for Thulusdhoo Constituency Ibrahim Naseem; 2. MP for Kurendhoo Constituency Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem; 3. MP for Dhiggaru Constituency Ikram Hassan; 4. MP for Gemanafushi Constituency Ahmed Saeed; and 5. MP for Hoarafushi Constituency Ahmed Saleem.
