As per the agenda of today's meeting, the committee coordinator Assistant Director General of Accounts, Shabana Rasheed opened to nominate member names for Budget committee 2023 Chair. Parliament member for Alifushi Constituency member Mohamed Rasheed Hussain named Parliament Member for Kinbidhoo Mohamed Nashiz as Chair, Supported by Parliament Member for Vilufushi constituency Hassan Afeef. The Name was passed by 19/20 of votes. Then, the committee coordinator opened to nominate member names for Budget committee 2023 Vice Chair. Parliament Member for Kaashidoo constituency Abdulla Jabir nominated, Parliament Member for Alifushi constituency Mohamed Rasheed Hussain as Vice Chair for the committee, Supported by Parliament Member for Kinbidhoo Mohamed Nashiz.The Name was passed by 19/20 of votes. Next, the chair and Vice chair took their elected seats. The committee passed the same Article of association used previous year as proposed by Parliament Member for Kudahuvadhoo constituency Ahmed Amir and supported by Parliament Member for Thinadhoo constituency Abdulla Mughunee. The committee decided to request for professional opinion from Ministry of Finance and Maldives Monetary Authority and opinion of Independent Institution regarding their allocated budget for 2023.
