In this meeting, the chairperson and deputy chairperson were appointed amongst the members of the committee, due to the re-composition of the Standing Committees of the People’s Majlis. Assistant Director General Shabana Rashid presided over the selection process of committee chairperson and vice chairperson. Kinbidhoo contituency member Mohamed Nashiz’s name was proposed by North Hithadhoo Constituency Member Mohamed Aslam and seconded by Dhandhoo contituency member Yaqoob Abdulla. Kinbidhoo contituency member Mohamed Nashiz was unanimously elected as the chair of the committee. Meanwhile, Dhandhoo contituency member Yaqoob Abdulla's name was proposed by Kinbidhoo contituency member Mohamed Nashiz and seconded by Mathiveri contituency member Hassan Zareer. Dhandhoo contituency member Yaqoob Abdulla was unanimously elected as the deputy chair of the committee.
