Introduction

The committee was established at the 2nd sitting of the 20th People's Majlis held on June 3, 2024. The mandate of this committee includes reviewing the social matters and social policies and submitting them to the People’s Majlis if there are any changes that need to be brought to the said policies. The Committee is also required to oversee matters related to institutions within the mandate of the Committee. In addition to this, the Committee is to review the Bills related to aforementioned institutions and report it for consideration to the Majlis, to review and then highlight the issues that needs to be amended in respect of the annual reports of those institutions, to review the issues submitted by those institutions and advise on how to proceed, and meet with those institutions, collect information on their work, querying, acquiring information on the respective administrations and making recommendations on improvements.
